Mosspaw jumped down and said,"So it's a race you want, eh?".She stood there for a couple of heartbeats."Aren't you gonna crouch down or something?" Owlpaw asked her."Nah, this is the way I win." she said slowly waiting for him to say go.

Owlpaw grinned. "Oh, ok." glancing at her, he sucked in his breath and then shot forward. "Go!" he said, yowling. There was an excited meow from Mosspaw and she raced after him, clumsily scattering leaves behind her. Owlpaw felt a twinge of excitement run through him, and he turned to the side to avoid hitting a blurred tree. After a few more heartbeats, Mosspaw lunged forward ahead of him, and he felt himself growling in concentration as he speed up the pace of his brown paws.

Mosspaw meowed excitedly as he said 'go'. She soon caught up with him and passed him.She looked back to see him catching up then, she pelted as hard as she could from there on.Her paws were starting to hurt but, she didn't care.

Owlpaw smiled then shook his head, slowing down to a brisk walk as he watched her pelt away into the trees. She's fast! He thought. I'll never be able to beat her in a race! Once he had caught up to her at the camp entrance, he grinned flawlessly at Mosspaws stubborn look. "Sorry. I guess I'm a slow runner!" he meowed.

"It's not your fault, some cats are just born faster." she then smiled."Come on, Lilypaw is probably fussing already. You don't want to keep her away from you too long!" she joked about Lilypaw.'Actually, that is true.It seems like she can't go one heartbeat without him.' Mosspaw thought as she and Owlpaw padded through the camp entrance.

Owlpaw snorted, padding after Mosspaw, but he wasn't three paw steps inside the camp before a cream colored blurr rushed into his chest, knocking him over as the breath was taken from him. Blinking dust out of his eyes from the ground, he found himself nose to nose with Lilypaw. She had him pinned down, which would explain why Owlpaw would be blushing. "Where were you?!" she demanded, her bright blue eyes reflecting anger but yet relief as her eyes glinted in the sun.

"Told you so!" Mosspaw laughed as Lilypaw pinned Owlpaw down as dust flew up, making her cough."It's not like we didn't tell you Lilypaw, use your ears!" Mosspaw teased her.Besides what she said was true.

Lilypaw ignored Mosspaw, but instead flattened her ears, desperately searching into Owlpaws eyes for an answer. When her staring became to much for him, though, Owlpaw glanced away, and Lilypaw felt like she was going to suffocate because of the breath she was holding in. "Lilypaw, we went down to the lake." he explained, this time softly as if he were teaching a kit a lesson. Lilypaw grit her teeth, lashed her tail, and stepped off of Owlpaw. She did not back down though; not from Owlpaw and especially not from Mosspaw. "I knew that you were going to a lake, but there's no real lake around here." Lilypaw looked at her paws, and feeling her eyes glisten with tears, she tore her claws into the ground and fought hard to keep them back. "So...where did you really go?" Lilypaw began to tremble, and she looked over at Owlpaw who seemed startingly taken aback. At first his expression showed that of deep confusion; then it slowly melted down into frustration, and overall anger as he knew where she was thinking they had gone; the mountains beyond the Duskclan territory. Surely we havent been gone that long! He thought, but his anger quickly fizzed his thoughts away into his claws as he glared at Lilypaw. He opened his jaws to speak, but once again Mosspaw was faster.

"If anything, you should trust him.We did go to the lake.Doesn't mean we have to tell you its exact placement, Lilypaw.I mean come on, Owlpaw's pelt is probably still damp, even after running!" she said right before Owlpaw could say anything."Oh, sorry Owlpaw, didn't know you wanted to say something." she smiled at him, just trying to quickly cover up what she said.'Hopefully what I said went in one ear and out the other!' Mosspaw thought."If she won't believe me then, she'll have to believe him.Why would he want to have some cat as a mate who doesn't trust him? ??' Mosspaw thought intensly. When she looked up Owlpaw and Lilypaw were staring at her, as if they had asked a question and expecting her to answer it.

"Oh Owlpaw your damp? Im so sorry!" meowed Lilypaw apologetically, her ears drooping as her pale face flushed in embarrasment. Owlpaw shook his fur out and chuckled, sitting up and drawing one paw behind his ear. Lilypaw knew that move; it was a sign that his anger was quickly melting away. She let her breath go, wanting to touch noses with him and apologize formally had it not been for Mosspaws wavering presence behind Owlpaw. Once again Lilypaw felt anger towards Mosspaw, who had taken Owlpaw for herself, but Lilypaw disregarded this thought. She was his best friend, not Mosspaw; surely his caring for her wouldnt faulter as Lilypaws love grew more and more by the day for him? Lilypaw grunted. "Its not him I distrust, its you. Besides, I dont really see why Owlpaw trusts you. I`m sorry Mosspaw, but your just to...playful to be taken seriously. You always seem to be joking around, and its hard to tell the difference weither or not your kidding. If you said you were going to kill me, I wouldnt believe you; while if I said it, you better be running with your tail inbetween your legs." replied Lilypaw, her blue eyes glinting harshly. Owlpaws fur rose up as he hissed defensively, but even he had to agree with atleast one of the things she said; It was hard to tell weither Mosspaw was being serious at some times or not. Maybe Lilypaw has a point....he thought.

"I'll just leave you two alone to backstab me.Clearly, no one here is on my side."Mosspaw flicked her tail is frustration and padded towards the apprentices den.'At least cats know i have a femine side!'Mosspaw thought angrily at Lilypaw.

Owlpaw blinked in shock, quickly standing up. "Wait, Mosspaw!" he yowled, but it was quite clear she would ignore him at the moment Owlpaw pouted, his tail drooping, and watched her go. What did I do...? He thought. "Im sorry she's acting that way, Owlpaw. Atleast you know I'm still here." murmered Lilypaw, distracting Owlpaw from his thoughts as she leaned forward. Owlpaw, clearly not wanting for her to lean into him, leaned backwards, feeling slightly awkward. What's up with she cats these days?! he hissed.

No matter how much she wanted to turn back, she didn't dare.'If he wants to be this way, fine with me.Hopefully he'll come to his senses later.'Mosspaw thought hearing him hiss and mumbling from Lilypaw. She went into the apprentices den and layed down, sighing heavily"'Soon, soon." she told herself quietly with no one to hear her.

Lilypaw purred, not at all offended by Owlpaws discomfort. Instead, she leaned in closer, sticking her nose into his sweet fur and glancing up at him. Lilypaw felt him flinch, and his green eyes seemed wide, so Lilypaw purred even louder. --------------- Owlpaw stiffened when Lilypaw leaned into him. He would have bared his teeth and instantly backed away, had it not been for his unwillingness to see the same flash of hurt in her eyes that he had seen before.

Mosspaw heard Lilypaw purring all the way from the inside of the apprentices den.Mosspaw hissed loudly, hoping Owlpaw could hear it.She hoped Owlpaw would've backed away from her by now, but Lilypaw's purr grew louder, and more annoying."Can you keep it down Lilypaw? I'm trying to atleast make an attemp at sleeping!" Mosspaw hissed hopeing she got the message.
