His voice echoed through the nothingness around him. it was the most beautiful sight he had seen in so long, it seemed. ever since his "forever" love had left him. was it real? was he really still alive? he could not make up his mind. his brain was not working. everything right, seemed wrong. things were working in the opposite directions. his visions are his only company. 'am i better off dead? am i better of a quitter?' the words rattled in his hollow head. 'they say I'm better off now, then i ever was with her...' the yellow apprentice and brown leader appeared in his never ending dream, yelling lies and curses. "you're better off without her!" "you're just crazy!" they say. to him it was perfect sense. could she still be waiting for him? so many questions, and too much silence. his fears only got worse. "i can change her mind. i could turn it all around!" he whispered to himself. his stiff legs struggled to step away, his paws dragging in the dirt. dusty clouds foamed around his sight. his eyes sightless, staring at nothing ahead of him. yells chilled his bones, but he could not hear a word. "am i better of dead? am i better off a quitter?" he repeated. what was going on? he had no idea, why he could hear himself. he did not want to. he stumbled around the area. he could feel the slight tickle of grass beneath him. his eyes began working up again as trees speckled around him. his paws shook as he saw the other cats shouting, "calm down!" but he could not. he continued yelling out her name. "please!" he begged. he lost all control and managed to start into a run. he sped through the woods, blurred visions around him. "where are you? please answer me!" he screeched. he did not have an idea of where he was heading, but he did not stop. he hoped he would forget her, but he knew he would never. he shouted her name all over. "why did you leave?" he whimpered. 'sometimes loves intoxicating," the medicine cat had said. 'and you realize there's no one waiting. he stopped running. there was no one waiting. he yelled her name again, but he heard was nothing. a familiar smell lingered around him, but before he could respond, he was out. he collapsed onto the ground without a word. the voices whispered in his head again, "you're crazy", "she never loved you!" they screamed. their mockery only made him more motivated to find her. "she would never leave me! if she sees how much I'm hurting, she'll take me back for sure!" he convinced more to himself. "what do you want!?" one yowled menacingly into his ear. "i only want words!" he replied. the voice laughed evilly, "what did you hear?" he shivered. "nothing..." he mumbled. "nothing! nothing! NOTHING!" it spoke through the wind. he thought nothing. only stood, unable to speak. even as rain poured like a waterfall on him. "no, no!" he growled. "im still in love!". he woke with a sudden jolt. a hazed white cat looked down on him. "mosspath?"
